  • Resolving dysfunction and pain relief

Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) is a wonderful, holistic, affective approach to healing pain and dysfunction in the body. We see patients of all kinds with varying degrees of discomfort come for treatment. Perhaps they have tried traditional clinical therapies without success or simply were interested in trying MFR. Either way, we see great results in getting to the root of what is causing tension in the body and creating a path to healing. Similar to committed athletes determined to reach a fitness goal or preparing for a big competition, patients that desire affective, long-lasting results must commit themselves to the program. The key is consistency. We see that those that are able to dedicate to a consistent frequency and plan, are able to obtain the results they seek over those coming every once in a while. We have the tools, we know what works, all we need is your trust and for you to come in for treatment. Being out-of-network, we understand that the costs for treatment are considered. However, we view this as an investment in yourself. Your health is important. Living pain free is important. Being able to feel good and enjoy life is important. Holding your wellness in high regard is not selfish, it allows you to show-up for those you love!

  • Pelvic Floor Fitness

The pelvic floor is responsible for supporting organs, bladder and bowel elimination, along with sexual function. When we consider fitness and exercise, this part of the anatomy may be overlooked. However, there are many benefits to incorporating the pelvic floor into a healthy routine. Pelvic floor fitness and physical therapy vary depending on the individual and what they're experiencing. Our core muscles correlate directly with the pelvis, making it an important element to proper strength and function in the pelvic floor. This along with Kegels are great ways improve strength, should that be what body needs. While Kegels are the most popular form of exercise, it may not be necessary or helpful if the pelvic floor is tense. Proper bladder and bowel elimination are crucial to supporting a healthy pelvic floor. This starts with hydration. When we are properly hydrated, our fascia is more flexible and relaxed. Ensuring that we drink 48-60 oz. of water daily will allow our fascia to function well, as well as give our bladder and bowel the chance to do their job and help flush the body of what is not needed. Exercises such as squats, stretches and pelvic drops are all effective in strengthening muscles that support the pelvic floor. Some people may experience unpleasant sensations and pain that prevent them from enjoying intercourse or sexual activities. Sex should be fun and pleasurable, there are a variety of ways to treat this at home with some guidance and tools. Pelvic pain and dysfunction are not symptoms to ignore or go untreated. • "The Fascial system is a Key Component for Proper Hydration"

Recently I read an article called,"The Science of Optimal Hydration” by Joseph Mercola. He included one of my favorite videos showing LIVE fascia, recored by Dr. Jean-Claude Guimerteau. My teacher, John Barnes has shown us Dr.G’s videos in class for many years. Now I am sharing it with you along with excerpts from his article. I hope you enjoy… Jane During these hot summer days, it is important to stay hydrated. We are told to drink plenty of water. But there are 4 forms of water. Water exists as liquid, ice (solid), vapor (gas) and gel. We Americans tend to get our water in liquid form by drinking water. In desert communities, Where fresh water is scarce, they obtain hydration from desert plants. These plants have a gel form of water. How much water should you drink? Generally, aim for 8 glasses of water/day.(48-60 oz). The need may vary depending on your activity level and how much you sweat. You can look at your urine to determine if you are well hydrated. Pale yellow indicates good hydration whereas dark yellow means you are dehydrated. But how do we assure that the water gets into our cells? New scientific discoveries are showing the importance of fascia for properly hydrating the tissues in our body and brain. Fascia acts as a hydraulic pump moving fluid through the body. Moving your joints helps the fluid to travel throughout the body. When we sit all day, we are preventing the fluid from moving around. So, we need to move to allow the fluid to reach everywhere. Nod your head to get fluid to move into your brain and allow your fascial system to move the water and hydrate your tissues. AND>>>>>> You can optimize the health of your fascia by getting regular Myofascial Release (MFR) treatments. Myofasical Release elongates your fascial connective tissue and opens areas that are bound down, stuck and tight. These stuck areas prevent the fluid movement that is needed for hydration. Tight fascia can compress the skeletal frame and crush the nerves, shorten the muscles and alter the posture. MFR allows your skeletal frame to freely move so your posture and muscles work at their most efficient levels. Click HERE to watch the video on how the fascial system moves water in our bodies. Best of all, MFR feels great. There is no need to have a problem to correct. MFR is a great tool to promote the optimal health of your tissues. Call to set up your MFR session today!
