We may most commonly correlate Kegel exercises to women trying to regain function after pregnancy, but Kegels are for men too!
Pelvic health and pelvic floor physical therapy are not only for women. Men experience pain and dysfunction too! Part of the process is normalizing that this affects men and encouraging treatment.
While some discomfort and dysfunction may be a results of tense pelvic floor muscles and require relaxation versus strengthening, Kegels are a simple pelvic floor exercise that men can do too!
If there are any doubts if Kegels are good for you, please consult your physician or practitioner. Please know, Kegels should not hurt or cause pain! Therefore, be mindful of your movements and only do what feels good to you.
